這個由 Apple 於 1992 年在 CHI 上面所發的 Paper : “A Magnifier Tool for Video Data”，主要是想要解決目前 Video 普通的 Slider Bar 和 Browsing 的方式所產生的 Global Context 和 Detail 無法兼顧，因為每一個時點只能看到一張畫面，因此 Apple 設計出了這樣子的 Slider Bar，在一整段 Video 中擷取其中六張 frame。點了其中一張 frame 就會再往下展開六張，依此類推:
